About Meagan

Coaching Experience

Meagan Denny-White was hired in July 2012 as a softball assistant coach at UT Arlington and took the lead of the pitching staff. After her first season as an assistant coach the Mavericks finished with a 25-28 overall record. Denny-White coached senior Teri Lyles to three WAC Player of the Week awards and her first no-hitter of her career. Her pitchers Teri Lyles and Callie Collins received the UTA Female Athlete of the Year back to back years. Prior to UTA she coached the Southwest Christian Lady Eagles to their first District Championship. They ended the season as the TAPPS State Runner UP in 2012. She started her coaching career at her Alma Mater Crowley High School as the pitching coach. Since Summer 2014 after having her first baby, Meagan has been privately training pitchers of all ages to use softball as a platform to be the best athlete and person they can be.

Playing Experience - High School

Denny-White came out of Crowley High School where she won two High School State Championships, was State MVP in 2003 and 2004, and was named the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year. In 2003, Meagan wore USA across her chest for the Jr World Championships in Nanjing, China. During the tournament she had a perfect game against Thailand, had a complete game win vs The Netherlands, and a save vs Australia. She helped the USA to a silver medal. Meagan was then recruited by the University of Texas.

Playing Experience - College

As a freshman, Meagan made 17 appearances, 15 starts and 2 in relief. She pitched 2 no hitters, 2 one hit complete games and had 5 shutouts. She finished the 2005 season 8-2 and recorded a remarkable 11 strikeouts per 7 innings on the season. 

During Denny-White's sophomore season, she recorded a 17-5 record in 28 appearances. She had a fantastic ERA of 1.57, along with 16 complete games and 4 shutouts pitched. She also ranked 18th in the NCAA, with 9.8 Strikeouts per 7 innings pitched. 

Denny-White continued her domination as a junior, earning a 9th place ranking in the NCAA with 10.2 strikeouts per 7 innings pitched. She posted a 21-16 record with 230.2 innings pitched and held opposing teams to a batting average of just .193. Denny-White's hot pace continued as she pitched 20 complete games, had 10 shutouts, and added yet another no-hitter to her resume. She finished ranked seventh in the Big 12 with an ERA of 1.73, while leading the conference in strikeouts (337) and starts (41). White was named to the 2007 All-Big 12 Conference second team and earned Big-12 Pitcher-of-the-Week May 1, 2007.

In her final season of collegiate softball, Denny-White made her mark in the Longhorn record books. She was named to the 2008 All-Big 12 Conference first team and National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Midwest Region second team. Denny-White capped off her career at Texas ranked third all-time in: innings pitched (689.1), wins (69), appearances (138), starts (116), complete games (67), and shutouts (27). She also ranks third all-time in Texas softball history in strikeouts, with 988, trailing the two-time Olympian, Cat Osterman and All American Blair Luna.
